Just wondering because it always surprises me to meet people irl and their voice not match what's in my head.

I bet NRR and ncsuapex both have thick country accents.

Mine is not super thick, but I definitely have one. I'm always surprised, though, when people comment on it. It comes out more when I'm with people who have pretty strong country accents as well.

I do use a lot of country words and phrases though

I did growing up but I worked on it for a long time. Now people say I don't really have any sort of accent. Lots of people (incorrectly) assume you're dumb when you have a country accent. It does still come out sometimes when I'm around friends from home though.

My accent always get called out. I live in the country now and it still gets called out sometimes. :/ My freshman year in Raleigh was probably the worse. Couldn't have a conversation without everyone be lolomgwhereufrom? People in Vegas seemed to really like my accent. The cab driver said it was making him blush.
