every time i've drunk dialed, the other person has asked if my boyfriend/husband was there and to put him on the phone. then the two of them proceed to make fun of me.

I don't drunk dial anybody. I do, however, drunk e-mail people, including my parents. I even tried to stop myself by using that g-mail thing that makes you solve math problems at certain hours before you can send mail.

Unfortunately, the setting above "math problems I can do drunk" is apparently "math problems I can't do stone cold sober and probably using the calculator."

So yeah, they get the occasional drunk mail from me. The worst part is waking up the next day, regretting sending the message and dreading reading the response. They've been pretty cool about it, though.

Oh, good lord. And mine always opens with, "What are you doing?" Since realistically I'm doing something deplorable like drinking or organizing my pornography or watching "Campus PD" whenever the call happens, I've become a master of lying:

I'm making/eating/cleaning up dinner. I'm cleaning my room/the house. I'm applying for jobs (which is frequently true, but a man can only apply for so many jobs at a time before he becomes suicidal, or at least this guy can). I'm walking my friends' dogs. I'm fixing my computer. I just got done with (insert strenuous activity here) and am resting before I start something else. I'm studying or working on homework (ha!).

I've never drunk dialed mom, but I've done a full on drunk thanksgiving conference call when I couldn't make it home. Somehow called Dad, and the whole family was at home and wanted to talk, which wasn't a problem except I'd had my own turkey day feast consisting of stove top stuffing and a quart of JD. Fun times, fun times.
