now, its a factory store so lets just say the majority of their clientele is non-white.

so it makes sense that during this last hiring phase they hired a lot of new workers in the store that are also non-white!

lets say they hired a bunch of new black associates, asian associates, and just a few new white ones- theyre all part-time workers...

all of the new white workers and asian workers have shown up everyday on time and done a fantastic job. the black associates generally have bad attitudes and are mostly no-call, no shows (actually just 1 is doing what theyre supposed to).

so why is this? is what im saying racist? is this really just a coincidence? what conclusions am i supposed to draw from these happenings? what should the store do in the future assuming the managers notice a certain... pattern.

he's not saying "being black makes you late for things". perhaps noting that something culturally contributes to an attitude where being late is more acceptable or not, but there isn't an implied causation there. more of an observation of behavior.

I think the point is that yowilly don't actually consider the real nuances of a situation, they skip the analytical process they would normally apply to themselves or for other situations, and jump straight to black-> lazy or whatever.

This "double standard" for people of a certain color is where "racism" may be derived from.

I tend to believe that different groups of people value different things. I was brought up that if I was late I was going to be punished. Other cultures may value family time more or eating at the dinner table. Does that make it ok that they are late? Nope. Also, my boyfriend, who is white, is late a lot and so are his parents.
