i guess so... this was from the late cretaceous though... before the dinosaurs died out... i think it's pretty rare to find a complete skull from mammals of that era (they were small, so when they died their bodies were almost always eaten by scavengers) 11/4/2011 8:04:51 AM

i'm not sure modern squirrels are directly descended from these guys, but i'd assume a change in diet was one of the main things... taking advantage of an abundant food source would probably increase chances of having offspring survive until they have offspring themselves. 11/4/2011 8:36:44 AM
