Hey folks... some friends of mine found this dog near Wilmington/Hargett streets in downtown Raleigh. He's (she's?) still a puppy and is not leash trained. Pass it along!

Aww what a cute husky. I'm sure there is a very sad owner somewhere. Did you post on the SPCA's lost and found site? http://trianglelostpets.org/

Do the dog a favor and give it to somebody who owns a ton of land.
A dog like that needs a ton of space to truly thrive IMHO.
They're full of energy and don't belong in your typical downtown home/apartment.

It's a shame so many people get them for looks and can't properly care for them.

Bullshit statement. Anyone that has ever owned a Husky, especially a puppy, will tell you that these motherfuckers are escape artists.

Judging from the picture, the dog has been well taken care of

Agreed. If we want to be honest here, no one that lives south of Toronto should even consider owning one.

I actually had to stop my car right before the intersection of Wilmington and Hargett last night because it was running around in the street

I just figured it had ran away from its owners' table at the Times

I'd also try taking it to the pound to see if it has a microchip.

^^ and it pisses me off that people are bidding on it. It needs to be returned to it's owner.

Take it from someone that has had a dog run off and never got it back

He was 6 years old and was accidentally let out of the yard by a dude that came by to check the gas meter.

My family and I have owned several dogs in my lifetime, and every damn one of them got out at 1 time or another. That doesn't make us bad pet owners.....it's just what dogs do.

Truth - We have 2 shepherds and a bulldog that roam about 15 acres. Squirrels don't stand a chance

My friend in Gboro has a husky and lives in an apartment. But she also walks the shit out of that dog daily and brings her to the dog park all the time. She seems like a happy doggy

Huskies definitely need a lot of room to run, and they are miserable in the summer....as are their owners that have to vacuum up the big clumps of hair on a daily basis.

That doesn't mean that they can't be happy in an apartment if they are walked frequently. But with the way they shed I can't see how an apartment owner would be able to tolerate it.

f that noise

we had a Husky growing up and it was miserable. he was an awesome dog, but my mom vacuumed day and night. and every chance he got, dude was off to the races. all dogs run off from time to time, but huskies keep running.

haha my parents have one of these dogs that have the same type of coat as huskies:

They got a special brush that helps take care of a lot of the undercoat shedding issues. It's freaky how much hair that damn thing can get off the dog. They also bring the dog to the groomer during the height of shedding season and they do some sort of voodoo magic that helps a lot too.

LOL at Wickerman's caption.

No word yet if they have found the owner. I tried to convince my parents (who live on 5 acres in northern Wake County) to take it if we couldn't find the owner. They considered for a few mins and said no, but I think I could convince them if I showed that picture. Those eyes will getcha!
