Long story short, a friend of mine jailbroke my iPhone 3G a while back and everything was fine until just recently I wanted to restore the OS to the factory OS, instead of doing a reset from the device itself, I did a restore from iTunes....well, it was progressing then suddenly threw error 15xx and the phone is stuck in Recovery Mode.

I'm not really technical so not sure what to do and don't feel like going to the Apple Store since I am sure they'll charge me an arm and a leg.
