the unreleased full version has this line at the end:
even this very video that we are uploading to youtube has a going rate of 70 cents per ad and is going directly to some executive at Google
and google is nothing but rich crony 'businessmen' with no well paid and insured employees whatsoever. and does nothing to improve society but be greedy with their technology and money and rob from the poooooor yay!!!
so lets raise the corporate tax once again so that we can lower the profit of companies like these that in turn force them to layoff jobs and not spend more money in the marketplace

I love how people in the 1% are being all like "yeah, go 99%" but then in the long run they really don't give a shit....they are just doing it for the good publicity. 11/13/2011 2:42:34 AM

the 1%, by and large, is not the fucking problem, or AT LEAST isn't where the effort should be focused. They don't owe you anything and you can't affect their actions nearly as easily as that of an elected official whose job it is to answer to constituents and set proper framework for the 1% to operate in. 11/13/2011 7:43:50 PM

Yeah, but that's the point of the protesters. They are trying to enact political action, not really cause the 1% to start handing out checks to the homeless.
The name "Occupy Wall Street" though is kind of a misnomer against the "we are the 99%" line. Wall Street and the 1% are different. 11/13/2011 9:39:37 PM

it's refreshing to occasionally hear someone say "i don't agree with these dirty hippies and i think their tactics are misguided, but as long as they're peaceful i don't think they deserve to be beaten by police" 11/14/2011 12:44:04 AM

Where they protest doesn't really matter at this point. They've gained enough traction to be politically relevant, and its popularity is forcing those in the political sphere to take action (or, better yet, to provide lip-service and pretend to take action).
As a movement, they've highlighted the disconnect between democracy and the American people, and they've illuminated the needs of the vast majority of Americans and brought them to the forefront of political discussion.
Besides, marches on capitol hill are soooo 60s. 11/14/2011 12:58:23 AM

yes, they've highlighted the disconnect
the disconnect is that they represent the thoughts of the american people no more than the tea party does, and the prudent thing would be to start listening to everyday americans instead of wackjobs, no matter which wing they're on 11/14/2011 1:04:35 AM

i'm sure somebody else has said it but it sprung to mind. it's what i call modern day authoritarians (those who support the dominance of private capital with the same anti-intellectual, animal fervor of lower class loyalists/monarchists) 11/14/2011 10:24:19 AM

I believe government should consist of one man in a room who's responsibility it would be to decide who and what to nuke. He should be selected by intelligence tests and perhaps some sort of athletic ability. He should also be brought women if and when he desired them. 11/14/2011 12:31:38 PM
