Is anyone, who is familiar with whatever Facebook's most recent changes/privacy settings currently exist as, aware of a way that one could allow "check-ins" to places but not have those check-ins broadcast out to people nearby via mobile device (specifically iPhones)? I'm aware of how to turn off push notifications so I don't get other people's, but I'd like it if it didn't broadcast my location to nearby friends. I know that sort of defeats the purpose. 11/16/2011 1:43:28 PM |

could be useful for historical tracking of check-ins without the desire of sharing this data, but I'm pretty sure this isn't currently possible. 11/22/2011 2:14:53 AM |

if you really wanted to, i bet if you change the privacy settings for your check-in post to "custom" and then "only me" every time before you post, that would work.
tedious, yeah. but whatever. 11/22/2011 9:27:30 AM |
