I hear Neese's bacon was pretty underwhelming though.

Neese's is good...but Bass Farm is better. And sausage from Nahunta is simply fucking awesome.

I know these things.

The best sausage I ever had was when I lived in Pender county. There was a little store near my house that made their own stuff and they would make sausage sandwiches with whatever you wanted on it.

technically they're different. Livermush has more cornmeal in it and, imo, is vastly superior to the pudding variety...you can only get real deal livermush from statesville west tho

Neeses is good, but I usually just get the stuff they have at the pork place at the farmer's market on Centennial.

OP - Yes. Right up there with farmers market foods, candy cane oreos, and cadbury egg milkshakes.

off topic but made me think.

Why do people properly pronounce Neese's like niece but pronounce Reese's like ree-cee's.

It's Reese, it's his candy.

I have heard Bass Farm is better.

I have no opinion of my own on the matter other than a sausage egg and cheese everything bagel would be good right now.

^^ Often wondered that too. It's especially bizarre when the same person will say Ree-cee Cup like that but they say Reese's Pieces normally.

1 pack Neese's sausage
2 foil packs of cream cheese
1-2 can of rotel
Brown meat, mix together
..........

NOM

You can always throw in some parmesan, garlic, onions while browning meat, bell peppers or substitute salsa for rotel

I make sausage gravy with Neese's all the time. I like the hot, but extra sage is good too.

The trick is to brown the sausage and put the flour on it while it's browning so the grease soaks it in. Then you mix in the milk and butter and it won't clump

I also like putting tony chechere's cajun seasoning and it tastes like Bojangle's

Wish I had a pic. My sausage gravy is boss.

Y'all need to start making your own sausage. It'll knock the socks off anything in the store, except maybe Nahunta's sausage.

i pay a local dude up here $4/lb for his homemade stuff. i highly doubt i could make anything that tasted better and i doubt i'd save much, certainly not enough to pay myself minimum wage for the time input.

just picked up 20 lbs from him tonight
