quite the contrary, i think 1 out of every 100 posts in classifieds should be a troll. the way i see it classifieds threads go in 3 directions

1) Somebody posts, no one wants it and they just bump it forever without even changing the price
2) Somebody posts, people low-ball and eventually its sold to someone who never posted or the OP forgets about the thread altogether / goes to craigslist/ebay
3) Somebody posts, thread gets trolled maybe derailed but generally this ends up in a sale (really the only exception to this would be people that no one likes like lewoods or other people who themselves are trolls), and we all get an entertaining read

I'm with ya on that point (just a little less angry like). I typically delete those types posts when I come across them, or when somebody alerts me...which pretty much never happens. To Krallum's point, you can post something outside the scope of buying or selling, but it better bring the funny...otherwise you're just douching it up for everyone trying to use the section to get their commerce on.

On the trolling front, I occasionally clean up threads if the OP requests (or if i offer and they accept), with this being the most recent example - message_topic.aspx?topic=618774, which was completely out of control. But come on, if someone is trying to sell a $150 laptop for $300, TWW will do what it does, and I usually don't intervene unless requested by the OP.

I feel like a decent percentage of new users (like myself) originally signed up wanting to utilize tww's classifieds section - a place that, unlike craigslist, that wasn't free for just anybody to use.

The problem is that people are chased off within their first 5 posts by people that can't restrain themselves from being "insert negative state of being here" to anybody and everybody they don't agree with. Krallum is an example of that - his band practices next to one of mine (or did, i haven't seen him recently) and one day we came face to face - he knew full well I had every right to 'insert graphic violence here" for all the crap he's said to / about me here...

Now maybe this is a mole hill / mountain thing, I'm guilty of it from time to time, but I would submit that tww has lost perspective and is entirely too tolerant of what I would term as 'get your ass kicked'(office space) comments, and that maybe the mods should reign it in some (not that you aren't doing a great job already) at least in the serious forums like The Garage (I will NEVER ask for advice there again), TSB ( I would LOVE to have a discourse on this or that but TSB is a viper pit that would have me popping prozac by the end of the day), and Classifieds (where you'll be ridiculed for asking a fair price AND have your sexual orientation questioned within 10 posts no matter what you are selling / wanting to buy). I'm just thinking out loud here and don't want anyone (except Krallum) to feel called out.

When synapse has a problem with my posts in classifieds he tells me (which is what mods should do). The reality is if it wasn't for trolling and lowballs everythread in their would have no replies and die after 90 days. If you try and sell shitty trucks for way too much then that's your problem. I would much rather people haggle and give people shit for what they are charging publically.

If anyone has a problem with anyone in their classifieds thread, no one is stopping them from messaging synapse. There is really no need to turn it into a police state.

Synapse is assuming that I haven't made a thread called "trolling", already. It can be found 10 headings below this one. Synapse is assuming my thread wasn't locked by gunzz. He hasn't thought too far ahead about what would happen if I created a thread by the same name. My thread was (ignorantly in the literal sense) locked by gunzz. It will be ignorantly locked again by gunzz.

Synapse is assuming that you didn't PM ME to notify moderators when trolling occurs so that a moderator can take care of the problem. Instead, I am met with resistance and threatened. I would like synapse to step back because I'm feeling threatened and confrontational.
