Nothing makes me happier than to see a company who's sole purpose is to prepare you for an apocalypse, but not just any ol' apocalypse, the zombie variety because I feel that resistant and aggressive viruses are a very real possibilty, not to the hollywood extent necessarily, but there is real possibility there.

I dunno if you have been here before, but the weapons on here look like a sound investment.

I wonder if there has been a zombie apocalypse thread before....

If only there was some way I could search for such a thing.

I hear the first sign a zombie apocalypse is about to happen is when scooters get stolen and run into a pond.

That could have all been avoided if drugs weren't involved.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this kmyoungs character. I guess I'll give it another week, and then pass judgement.

^ will the noise of the guns attract all the zombies? Bow and arrows might be better, eh?

in the interview with Steve Hornady about Zombie Max he actually addressed that. said you might wanna go with a suppressed firearm.

well I guess that would be alright. I'd still like to have a bow as a back up though. You can retrieve arrows or make more. I'm worried bullets would run out eventually. But I'd like to have all three just in case, blade, bow, and gun.

Also, it annoys me that the girl up there is covered in what I assume to be zombie blood. Bitch you're doing it wrong, imo.

deer ribs will often take my arrows out of commission until i can get them re-fletched and it'd be hard to hit the zombie kill zone at zombie-safe distances with a bow. a suppressed .223 would be a good balance of accuracy, range, and quiet.

Seriously though, I think the reception you've gotten here has been overwhelmingly positive (too positive, if you ask me) for TWW standards. If you're already getting aggressive and bitchy over this, I'd recommend leaving now and never looking back. If you can thicken up your skin just a bit and lurk some to figure out people's personalities before assuming they are fucking with you, (EMCE is one of the nicest, helpful most genuine people on here.) then stick around.

(The upside—the booze will be plentiful). At 25 inches of total length, and 17 inches of carbon steel edge, she’s the size you need to do the job, whether you’re clearing the aisles of corner store trash on your way to the last Slim Jim, or putting down reanimated hipsters on your way to happy hour at the bar. The UBMs lean profile keeps her weight down for a speedy tip return and ensures that after a long day of bitch slapping in the concrete jungle you’ll both look and feel fantastic at the after-party."

Well damn, this one is just custom made for me

I love the disclaimer for Hornady's Z-max...

Quote :
"Hornady® Zombie Max ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that’s not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean ZOMBIES!"

It's actually pretty big right now...a lot of people are getting it for Christmas.

I think it's Ruger that has made a Zombie Survival kit with an SR-9

kmyoungs, I like the idea of being prepared for any catastrophic event, zombie or otherwise. You can stock up on all the ammo/weapons you like, but you still probably need first aid, water, shelf-stable foods, and the like.

Yes, but with weaponry (gun and blade variety) you can hunt food, make shelter, and you will have protection against the crazies, therefore arming myself will be priority #1, while food and shelter are #2

evil betty, I missed you... couldn't text you at all bc my phone is gone ... I think the tww people are onto us though

the ruger zombie thing was for the LCP Zombie Slayer edition. it was a special for some distributor. some of them were sold in a "kit" with The Zombie Survival Guide

[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 11:10 AM. Reason : i'm guessing the ZMax for rifle cartridges is just hornady AMax or VMax with green tips]

Damn. I gotta say, I love the description this site uses for it's weapons. If all the blades didn't have that blood splatter finish they would look a lot better.

On the topic of bow/arrow... it would be a good weapon if you knew how to use it effectively. Being able to hit a moving zombie in the head from a safe distance would take years of practice. Being able to make your own arrows would be a skill in it's own that would probably take quite a bit of training. Training in firearms, however, would probably only take a few weeks to the point where you are at least somewhat effective at safe distances.

I would say an alien invasion kit would be more realistic than a zombie apocalyptic kit.
