Big 10 is taking names this year. Doubt we win this one, should be good basketball. Hopefully we win every game except the UNC one.

My initial picks are:

UVA
Northwestern
Illinois
Purdue
Iowa
Duke
NC State
Penn State
Michigan State
Minnesota
Nebraska
UNC

Big Ten wins 8-4 with UVA, Duke, NC State, and UNC winning for the ACC.

A lot of toss up games but will be tough for the ACC to win with Wake, BC, Maryland, Clemson, and GT all playing pretty poor basketball right now.

^^Depending on how you define "recent", Tony Bennett seems to be doing good things at UVA (even if they aren't exciting to watch).

Still way too early to judge this year's hires. We do have a enough data to conclude Gottfried is an upgrade from Lowe. The cupboard is pretty bare at Wake and BC, and Gary didn't exactly sweat recruiting his last few years at Maryland. The most amusing thing about the Miami situation is that they are looking for another coach in 5 years, either due to firing or retirement.

Michigan (UVA scored less than 50 points in one game)

Northwestern (transitive properties NU beat LSU and LSU beat GT)

Illinois

Purdue

Clemson

Duke

NC State

Penn State

Michigan State

Virginia Tech

Nebraska (WF lost to Herb)

Wisconsin (because they play really good D, and they beat UNC by 50 to overshadow our 40 point loss to them)

Big 10 8-4.

Everyone is picking Michigan State over Florida State, who most people picked to finish 3rd in the ACC this year?

I think Sparty gets their 3rd loss to an ACC school on Wednesday.

What? The ACC has thoroughly dominated this series. We've lost the last 2 years, but we're 10-2 overall since this event started.

Ohio State might be the best team in the country right now (Kentucky and Wisconsin may argue otherwise) and Duke has looked a little shaky. At Ohio State, I think they win by double digits.

Purdue is overrated I think Miami will hang close with them but still lose.

I'd have to go with Big ten 8-4 this year.

I bet big on the big 10 after reading that kenpom article.

It seems like Big 10 is heavy favorites to win 7 games and the other 5 are basically toss-ups.

In order to lose the bet the ACC would have to sweep the 5 toss-ups and produce two big upsets, or win 4/5 of the toss-ups and produce three big upsets... just not that likely.

In all likelihood the Big 10 wins 5+ of the heavily favored games and wins 2-3 of the toss-ups for a comfortable 7-8 win victory.

Nice safety net with the 6-6 tie possibility as well.

This is gonna be an ugly challenge, no doubt. Still, it'll be nice to get a real feel for how the ACC really is this year.

Kinda weird to be such a big underdog in the challenge, but I don't think anyone can deny that the ACC has been sliding lately.

Glad to know I will be at the game with bitterbags Elmore on TV. Can someone arrange to have Tommy Burleson sit RIGHT BEHIND him every time Elmore is assigned to a State home game?

At the end of the first half Michigan REALLY is not looking like the #15 team in the country.

24-23 UVA on top.

Seriously. I know the announcers keep trying to convince everyone that these are simply two defensive minded teams but neither of them seems to be able to shoot in the first half, and as a fan of NC State I can recognize piss-poor first half shooting.

The score is more a product of Michigan's Princeton offense than it is bad shooting. Though, both of these teams are painful to watch.

And Maryland is not looking half awful without a true point guard.

These are all pretty much 50-50 games and they are all being played @ACC.

ACC has to win 2 of these 3 games to have a shot at winning the challenge and may need to win all three.

Michigan shouldn't be ranked, let alone be in the top 15.
