What will rednecks think of next?

Ingredients - 1 can Pringles crisps (original flavor) - 1 c all-purpose flour - 1 tsp baking soda - 2 tsp ground cinnamon - 1 tsp allspice (if you don't have allspice, you can whip up a substitute with cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon; here's a recipe) - 1/4 tsp ground cloves - 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened - 1 c dark brown sugar, packed - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 1 c fruit preserves, raspberry or mixed berry (I used Bonne Maman Four Fruits Preserve) - 1/3 c crystallized ginger, finely chopped (Kyle mentions that you can sub in 2 tsp of powdered ginger if you don't have the crystallized kind) Directions 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and place Pringles, flour, baking soda, and spices in a food processor, and puree until the consistency of corn meal; set aside. 2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until slightly fluffy. 3. Add the egg and vanilla and mix for 30 seconds. 4. Pour the Pringles spice mixture into the bowl and mix for 1 minute; place dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. (If you're comfortable with eating raw egg, try a bite of the dough; it's excellent.) 5. Drop by rounded teaspoon (official tsp, not regular spoonfuls!) onto ungreased baking sheets and bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. 6. In a small bowl, combine fruit preserves and ginger; spread 1 teaspoon onto a cookie and top with another cookie. 11/28/2011 11:04:17 PM

You think this is the result of rednecks, just because it uses Pringles?
Seems kind of presumptuous. Recipe looks legit to me. 11/29/2011 1:35:00 AM

^ exactly.
i mean, the recipe is using some exotic ingredients... not stuff that rednecks would know even exists.
so what's the purpose of adding the pringles? they can't give flavor, so i guess they are for texture? how about potato flour... would that lead to the same [unknown] texture? 11/29/2011 2:51:30 AM

^^ Yeah for real. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what exactly in this recipe is considered "exotic." 11/29/2011 9:39:40 AM

I was about to be impressed that they could make a "sandwich" using whole pringles. Then I read the pringles are crushed. I lost interest after that. 11/29/2011 9:50:04 AM
