...seems to me rather ambiguous. We all know not to use our host's toothbrush for instance, but the rules for the shower arent as defined. Personally, I stay away from the loofa (and i remove it from the shower entirely if i have guests over so that they arent tempted) but I have no qualms sudsing my sack with the bar of soap.
we need to create a guest shower code of conduct to deal with these situations. 11/29/2011 11:47:27 AM

if you're so inclined, just buy a loofa when you know a guest will be over in case they want to use one 11/29/2011 11:50:00 AM

It doesn't matter as long as they can't tell that you used it.
So you can scrub your asshole with their loofah, as long as you rinse your dingleberries off after you're done.
Use their toothbrush, but dry it off with a towel when you're finished so its not still wet when they use it next.
You can beat off in the shower, just aim for the drain and make sure it washes off the shower floor. 11/29/2011 11:50:08 AM

yeah a real hand towel in the shower just seems like a terrible idea
unless you're a fatty who washes with a hand towel wrapped around the end of a stick
i leave plenty of shampoos, soaps, towels, washrags, hand towels, whatever is needed in my guest bathroom, and it's worked out well with many people either crashing after parties or actual house guests
sometimes i'll shower in my guest br shower when i dont feel like having to use the squeegie to clean down all the glass in the master.. 11/29/2011 12:05:21 PM

I suppose this would be hard if you absolutely had to have a rag-like thing when showering and assumed everyone else did too.
For my shower it's liquid soap and liquid shampoo.
You use your hands.

I always have towels out for people to use, as well as shampoo, conditioner and some type of soapy thing. I've never put out washcloths because I've never used them and honestly it just doesn't cross my mind. A few people have asked for them, and I oblige. I guess I really should start putting them out as a standard.
If they use my shower they're welcome to use anything I have product-wise. But that doesn't really happen anymore with a guest bath. 11/29/2011 1:11:20 PM

i give my guests an entire shower to themselves so they don't even have to use my shower.
In it is liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner in a hand lever operated container on the wall. I also provide their own full size towel on the towel bar, and normally instructions on the best temperature setting and how to get there.
then they get to relax in a guest room with their very own queen sized bed and 32" LCD tv. 11/29/2011 1:15:18 PM

anyway, I always tell guests to stay the fuck away from my toothbrush (and usually paste), shaving razor and my bar soap. I keep liquid soap for guests. 11/29/2011 2:20:32 PM

I have both bar soap and Old Spice body wash in my shower. body wash seems to take double the amount of time to wash off of my body that bar soap does. ive probably had that same bottle of old spice in there for a year because i never use it for that reason. i go through about a bar every couple of weeks (maybe a month?) 11/29/2011 2:31:08 PM

I use Irish Spring bar soap on my entire body, save for my genitals, on which I use Olay women's body wash. I instruct my guests to only use the soap, as the body wash is expensive and they wouldn't appreciate enough to justify it. 11/29/2011 2:34:29 PM

I have a guest bathroom that is always 'presentable' and stocked for guests. I have an organic futon for sleeping accommodations, and 3 sets of 'guest only' sheets that are always cleaned immediately after use. Also, 2 big towels and a hand drying towel by the vanity with some scented decorative soap bars, and some antibacterial soap in a pump. 11/29/2011 2:37:57 PM
