Last Sunday, I was driving my car from Raleigh to Charlotte. During the trip on hwy 64 at Pittsboro, my old ford taurus was suddenly broken down. The tires were deflated. It was like they were suddenly gone. I turned on the emergency light and let the car pool right along the roadside. I took my bags out and jumped out of the car. After calling my insurance agent and giving them my location, I found a Macdonald nearby and took a rest.

Shit happens everyday.

Did you hit some trash in the road? It's terrifying when tires blow out at high speeds.

One time, years ago, a giant garbage truck tire exploded beside me on the highway. It sounded like a bomb; pieces of rubber went everywhere. I nearly drove into the ditch.

Maybe. It was really terrified. I had changed all four tires for the taurus at a Ford dealer nearby. They
were old and exhausted.

I didn't drive at a high speed. I think it was around 55 mph at that time. And no cars nearby at that time. I avoided the I-85 to go to Charlotte.

^says a south asian guy. I guess you could be a tire racist, blame the chinese tires. But personally I love my Cheng ShitShin tires. Too bad the US government puts such a high tariff on them.

One of the reasons I've never liked riding motorcycles on the highway when traffic is thick. I'm pretty sure a tire tread would take you out pretty quick.

A water bottle to the face could take you out too. Don't get your dress caught in the chain.

A few years back, a tire came off a dirt hauler on I-64 in Norfolk, VA... debris kicked up, resulting in half the tire smashing my brother's windshield. He was picking glass out of his arm for weeks.

Scary shit. Glad you're ok, shoot.

^^ I'm pretty sure that damaged was caused by a water bottle.

WTF Garage??? shoot, unless you have a cool side story about how you swapped all four tires on the side of the road using only a swiss army knife and a pair of wise grips, take this shit to chit chat. I don't expect everyone posting here to be involved in racing/fabbing/wrenching, but this guy makes OEPII armchair auto review threads look relevant! And don't use the azn card, im pretty sure there a couple of them on here that are not scared of driving or wrenching.
