I have a HP Photosmart C6380 at the office that is acting like a true bastard. Printer was working normally until it came time to change out the black ink cartridges. I pop those things in there and it's like I haven't changed a thing. I have tried changing the newly changed cartridges out for other new ones, but it hasn't made a difference.

Anyone know where to go from here? Is there a possible clog I can clean somewhere to fix this?

Is there an ink saver option that is enabled?

Is the printer actually using the color cartridges to print black? I've had HPs that did that, and it really pissed me off that I kept having to replace the color when I hadn't printed anything that should use color. I bought a laser printer after that.

Does it give you an error message? My Photosmart has gone tits up over the light cyan cartridge. It said it was out of ink, so I replaced it. Now it will not recognize ANY cartridge as being in there and will not print at all, even in B&W mode. All the other ink cartridges are fine and I have three different HP cartridges in there. I unplugged it for like a month once and it printed okay for 3 or 4 months after that, but now it is back to "unable to print replace light cyan cartridge".

Try cleaning or changing the print head.
