I remember in Social Deviance we read a study that talked about how people who rob businesses never rob residential, and people who rob residential never rob businesses and the various justifications the two groups came up with for never robbing the other. Always thought that was kind of interesting.

I wish I could remember the name of the study. Maybe someone who has taken the class more recently remembers. But the business robbers would justify it as, "Well businesses aren't hurt when you take some of their money like a person is when you rob their house," blah blah blah and the people who robbed residential said things like, "Well this person has a lot of money and I don't. I won't rob a business because they give people jobs," blah blah blah.

I feel bad for these people, but lets think about this.

Who the hell does not have renters insurance or homeowners insurance? Why would you keep $1000 in cash to go on a trip. Cash is the stupidest thing to carry on a domestic trip ever. It would make more sense to put your money in the bank where it is insured and replaceable.

This dude gets a steady paycheck and should be getting a housing allowance or free base housing and only has 1k in cash saved? That smells too.
