the little port where the power plug fits into my computer... is not working, i have to hold it in place and kind of kink it to get it to connect and supply power
its within the computer, not the cord itself
any ideas on where to have this fixed? am i fucked?

it's possible to replace the internal power port on laptops, but it's tricky. best option is to ask somebody you know or post an ad on craigslist and pay somebody $50-100 to solder a new jack on for you 12/14/2011 9:35:07 AM |

I am assuming that fred knows you have a laptop, but in case you don't, a new power supply in a desktop is fairly easy to replace and not too terribly expensive. 12/14/2011 10:35:11 AM |

If the jack is in fact what needs replacing (probably), then this is what you need. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-AC-DC-POWER-JACK-HP-TOUCHSMART-TX2-1200-1024-PJ49-/140551788702

You get the part, I will replace it in exchange for a 12 pack of any decent microbrew.
