stones are hit or miss- you get one drink out of them, which is annoying (since you only get a couple per set and they aren't cheap, and who wants to keep a fridge full of rocks)

and there are some drinks I do like to water down a bit



but then again there are others I would drink room temp instead of watering down, so rocks are the perfect solution

You should make Johnnie Walker black label ice shooters so you can take shots of Johnnie walker black label with a Johnnie walker black label ice shooter. You just need to be able to freeze 80 proof liquor at -34°C so you can achieve this with dry ice (-79°C) or Liquid Nitrogen (-196°C).

I take my black label with rocks or some sprite.

Or if you want to look the part without killing your throat you can put the entire bottle of scotch in the freezer and dilute it with a splash of water when you pour it - that way you will look cooler

But honestly it's not like you're wasting something expensive - drink it however you want it. I use black label in everything mixed - red label is just too rough to be worth buying.

yeah, straight up, I will drink the black, but I think it is better for a light mix ... my typical sipping walker is either green or gold. or blue if I'm out and feel like spoiling myself

^^^^^ Lagavulin, Laphroig, Talisker etc... are all a little rich for me. I like them room temp with a tiny splash of water.

If you don't mind spending $60, pick up a bottle of JW Swing. It's really smooth and sweet and even your little sister will like it. At the same time, even scotch drinkers enjoy the flavor.

...anyway: Anyone here tried the 'double black' yet? I am curious to see what others think.

^^got a bottle for Xmas, no just a slight hint of peat like regular black. not really much like regular black at all. doesn't have a very smokey nose but the first taste is smokey but isn't overpowering. a splash of h2o made some of the sweetness stand out. I like it but no more than 1 or 2 servings in a a sitting
