"hit me if you want to," would they still be able to prosecute you even though the officer gave consent?
It seems that if you consent to being hit, and as long as the bodily harm was limited to nothing extreme, I don't see a problem with that on a legal level. 12/24/2011 2:18:54 AM

Oh snap!
You still didn't answer my question though.
I guess such a question is too tough for you people. 12/24/2011 2:48:59 AM

Yes. You would get arrested. At your trial your lawyer could argue entrapment but you would probably lose. 12/24/2011 3:27:30 AM

Also "hit me if you want to" doesn't mean "hit me and I wont arrest you" but most likely means "you can make the choice to hit me, but if you are stupid enough to do so I will fuck you up and toss you in jail"

Kind of like those "you can drive drunk but we are gonna get you"
I think all he was doing was telling your drunk ass that he was prepared to take you down and trying to save you any injury or embarassment 12/24/2011 8:50:04 AM

I take it as a command from an officer of the law
if a cop tells me to hit him, I expect to be tased if I don't 12/24/2011 8:52:46 AM

^^^ But he didn't explicitly say it.
If a prison guard says "You can pee if you want to," it doesn't mean he will take you down if you try filling the urinal with your own urine. 12/24/2011 9:45:43 AM

he doesn't have to explicitly say this... he is a cop, and you are talking about punching him- in what world do you think this is going to turn out ok?
do you ever look at the arrest photos and notice the people who are all jacked up? those people are just resisting, and not assaulting an officer- the ones that assault an officer often make a trip to the hospital first....
oh wait, you are trolling.... gotcha 12/24/2011 10:26:05 AM

So if a person tells you that you can hit him, will you still be charged if you do, or will the judge just laugh at the person who told the man that he can hit him?

i would think so, yes. you would get charged if you stabbed or shot someone that said you could. the question is whether a jury would find you guilty, i guess. 12/24/2011 12:41:03 PM
