Like if you made a time machine and managed to travel backwards in time, would it be like Langoliers style or Back to the Future style?

it is impossible to create a time machine that can travel backwards in time. at the minimum, there is no possibility of creating such a time machine in our lifetimes.

therefore, there is no point in discussing your question.

time travel doesn't really impact the question of free will. it is an incidental relationship, that's all.
