maybe you should actually go visit MD sometime. The people on the eastern shore and in southern maryland are almost exactly like they are in eastern NC, and they have more than their fair share of Appalachia hillbillies in the western part of the state. If you took out the clusterfuck that was Washington DC, you'd never know you weren't in the south.

Seems like the only definition that you care about is who fought with who in the Civil War. That's no longer relevant and has always been geographically wrong.

If you're a fan of hillbillies there's a lot in central PA and all over NY that want to be included in your "southern" definition.

the mason-dixon line has always been the dividing line of north and south. Anyone who claims MD can't be in the south because of the civil war apparently doesn't know anything about the civil war.
