This is the Phillies last season to be good. Enjoy it. We'll see how Howard comes back from his injury. That lineup will be even worse this year as everyone gets older and slower, but the SP will carry them to a playoff birth.

Atleast Halladay did something cool by helping some dude who got bit by a snake - I saw it on the Yahoo junk news roll this morning. Good for Roy, fuck the rest of the Phils.

For anyone ever in the Philly area... this is an absolute must to check out. The new Xfinity LIVE entertainment complex just opened up and it is BAD ASS. Especially next weekend when the Phillies come home and Flyers playoff hockey starts. You can walk around with your drinks outside and take them into different bars.

yeah it sucks because Utley is one of my favorite players but his knee is just going out and we need the salary room. Rollins I think has a lot of intangibles that help the team but the salary is ridiculous. Howard is probably doneso as well but I have my fingers crossed. Polanco, far from being "finished", is also not 100%.

We're going to have a lot of trouble hitting this year. Last year wasn't that great but our pitchers made us look better than we actually were. Hopefully Pence steps it up big time.

I disagree a little bit. While the definitely are not going to be the team of a few years ago scoring a ton of runs and living off the long ball, they's made a conscious effort to practice and incorporate a lot of small ball. Bunting, stealing, hit and runs, sac flies, etc. All the offseason pickups seem to fit that style of play well. All the while, their starting pitching will keep then in every game. I just don't think their offense will be as dismal as everyone is prognosticating.

Rollins hasn't been league average since 2008. And really he's only had one year far above league average, which is his "MVP year." Quotes, obviously, because it was a sham award.

they started about this bad in 2008 and 2009. they're missing their 2 best hitters. they'll be fine eventually and will probably still have a good shot at winning the NL east, or at least the wild card assuming lee doesn't have a serious injury and howard and utley can come back and produce like they usually do. the only thing phillies fans should worry about is charlie manuel's stupid ass fucking everything up.

Halladay looked like he had the flu. Something was definitely wrong with him. He doesn't just serve a meatball up to McCann like that. I wouldn't be surprised if he does a short stint on the DL after last night.


LOL and all the coaches being afraid to talk to him after he came out of the game. I know he's Roy Halladay and all, but you'd think the pitching coach Rich Dubee would check to see if he is okay.

^ With veterans, they are smart enough to tell the coaches something is wrong. It's not like Halladay is worried about being cut and hiding an injury. The coaches know better than to bother a Cy Young type guy over one shitty start especially when his adrenaline is still flowing.
