I know there are several threads on this but none of them are really current. I'm pretty terrible at apartment hunting so maybe yall can help me out a bit. Basically I'm looking for a 1 br place to live somewhere near campus in a not terrible neighborhood and for $600 or less. Possibly $650ish if it's too good to pass up. It doesn't have to be amazing though. Can anyone point me to a website I might not have seen yet or something that's not listed on the internet?

I paid 535 a month at kensington park on avent ferry (owned by same people as gorman crossings) but that was back in '09 so im sure the price might have been bumped up a bit.

I stayed here for a while my senior year and really liked the place. Nice and quiet and you can get pretty much anywhere you need really quick. Not really too close to campus but not far either. For $660/mo it is pretty hard to beat, lots of square footage and huge closets. Staff was great too.

What about Wildwoods/Sumter Square? My friend likes Wildwoods, seems decent enough. There's stuff all over Gorman, but I haven't been in any place I'd want to live in

Over by Cameron Village you have the Cameron Village Condos I, on the west side of Daniels street. They're individually owned and not centrally managed so you'll have to drive down the street and see if you see any "for rent" signs. I lived there from '04 to '07 and paid something like $525/mo at the time. They're small (560 square feet) but nice enough and it's a great location. There are also the Raleigh Apartments over there, in between CV and Broughton High School, that have a number of 1br units. Going towards downtown you have Cameron Court, Shelton Arms, the Boylan Apartments, the St. Mary's Apartments, and Grosvenor Gardens all in a cluster near the intersection of Hillsborough and St. Mary's Street. All of them have 1br units and are in pretty cool 1930's-40's era buildings. No clue on current costs, though Cameron Court started around $600 several years back.

Those big brick apartment buildings on Clark Ave. just west of Chamberlain (I believe) are cheap as shit, I remember a co-worker living there a few years back

^And that's pretty cheap.

Batlimore-Washington metro areas easily go up into the $1500-$1600 range
