Each speaker has two 2ohm voice coils right? So total impedance is either 1ohm or 4ohm per speaker depending on how it is wired?

I believe that is correct yes. They're great I just got a smaller car and they're a bit much. I have them on CL for more but if anyone is in/near Charlotte and wants to meet I'll let everything go for $200.
