LG 42" plasma, model # 42PX7DC (got it used, don't know how old it is)
The power blipped for a second earlier tonight. I didn't think much of it, the TV and PS3 are on a surge protector and they both came back on immediately and kept on working.
But now, the TV doesn't respond to the remote (yes it has batteries) or any of the front panel buttons. It won't power off, change channels, inputs, menu, nothing. I'm afraid to unplug it to turn it off because I'm betting it won't come back on
So the surge protector has this cool "GROUNDED" light. It was on until I disconnected the cable coax from the TV, then it went out. So the cable line was serving as the ground for everything plugged into the strip.
I guess the surge could have come in through the unprotected cable line and fried something in the TV. or something.
Any suggestions for getting this thing working again? 1/17/2012 9:35:01 PM |
