So this evening, when I wasn't even using it, my computer went ape shit. Said I had several internal errors mostly involving my Hard Drive and RAM. I can't access the Internet or any of my programs. However a program called "system check" popped up, diagnosed several problems, said it corrected a few but said to fix everything I had to buy the full version. This seemed awfully fishy to me, especially considering I don't recall ever installing this program.

A quick google search says this is a virus. Has anyone encountered this virus? And if so how to best get rid of it? I don't have another computer to research this with till later this week so I thought I would post this up on here with my phone.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Reboot in safe mode with networking, download and run combofix...the whole removal takes about 15-20 minutes

Punter I booted up in safe mode with networking, but no programs are shown for use except System Check. How do I access a web browser to download the program you mentioned?

Quote :
"Click on "Click here to activate full-functional version" which is located on the bottom-left of the main window and enter this key:

E-mail: fake@email.comKey: 1203978628012489708290478989147"

Then you'll be able to launch the browser and download combofix, it doesn't usually require that step so that's why I left it out
