I enjoy them for different reasons. The Olympics are about national pride and tradition; the X-games are about stunts and sponsorship.

The Olympics, by and large, are my favorite because of what it means for the USA but the X-games often have a greater entertainment value on an event-by-event basis. I wouldn't give a shit about swimming save for the fact that the US needs medals to win the Olympics overall.

if I had to rank anyway - Winter Olympics > Summer Olympics > Summer X-games > Winter x-games

in the end I hate pretty much any voting-derived "sport". The half-pipe additions and other "trick" winter sports have made me less interested in watching the winter games. The x-games has the same problem because they've removed most of the cooler racing events.

I like the Summer Olympics the best because of Soccer, Basketball, Boxing, and coming in 2016 Rugby 7s.

I like them both but I think I pay more attention to the olympics

I actually really hate all the motorsports that are involved in the X-games. Moto X, all the shit with snow mobiles and rally cars is sorta annoying to me and gets away from how the X games first began.

That being said I actually think the X games has better coverage than olympics, although the olympics have more events making it more difficult.



basically I'm just a sucker for a simple race so thats why I like the olympics more (swimming, track, downhill skiing etc) and in general prefer the summer olympics (I pole vaulted in high school and if you can catch it on TV that shit is great). A majority of X games are just too subjective (graded by judges),

so for me

summer olympics>winter olympics>winter x games>summer x games (except the old school X games when they had downhill skateboarding and street luging which jumps before the winter X games)

^I heard the most attended sport at the summer games is Soccer and I like how soccer and Ice Hockey get their own channel for the olympics, but what pisses me off is that they don't show bobsledding. Speed Channel is a part of the NBC networks and used to show bobsled Olympic qualifying, so there is no reason they can't show the whole competition, even if some of it is tape delayed.

The sad part about the winter olympics is that people actually want to watch figure skating, so that is why it gets so much coverage.
