They sell cream that makes dark-skinned Indians lighter. It's in their culture. If they have dark skin, they are ashamed of it. It brings them even more shame when they come to this country and realize more than ever that they are not white people. (Not all of them, just the silly ones that you are probably referring to in the OP)

Disclaimer: I have some FOB Indian friends who I study with, and they shared this info with me... but it isn't a secret. I've know about this since I was a kid.

In my experience and from talking with 'world travelers', racism is fucking everywhere. America seems to be more so the country that actively demonizes it.

Indians and chinese are the wooorrst. Even the ABCD indians are pretty racist. It's a problem that they have within their own culture in addition to cross culture. The northern indians (usually lighter skinned and bigger boobs) have a huge superiority complex over southern Indians and have derogatory slurs against them.

Chinese are so bad that I just ignore it.

Hispanics and blacks are also mildly racists (a level below whites) but they are more tolerant than the aforementioned groups IMO.

Of all the minorities, it is the jews that are by far the most accepting.

It is a pretty standard phenotype difference.

Northern Indians are usually light skined and have bigger boobs. They also tend to have a little more body mass as well.

Southern Indians are much darker and thiner. This correlates to smaller boobs. I am sure that there may be exceptions but I think that in general it is true.

India is vastly divided between the north and south and from state to state. so much so that it is quite easy to tell who comes from where just by appearance.

and there is so much discrimination between the northern and southern halves that it is sad.

I don't know if they're the most racist (I'd give that title to the Russians), but yeah, a lot of Indians are pretty goddamn racist.

I'd postulate several reasons. One, a lot of Indians got dragged to Africa by the British, and once they got there they were put on a tier above the black Africans. Tell somebody that they're superior long enough, and they're going to listen. That, and after the British left, a lot of the Indians left behind didn't fare very well, which couldn't do much to build good feelings.

Plus, it can't help that the information about American race disparities that reaches the rest of the world isn't sunny and isn't well-explained by foreigners who don't have hands on experience with it, with the result that before the immigrate Indians hear that black people are poor and commit more crimes. Which may be statistically true, but it's leaving a lot out.

Then there's popular culture. When you've got one or two black guys in a movie, they're probably depicted as being pretty average guys. But whenever you've got a movie with a large group of black people together, they're either in a gang, a ghetto, or something with "Tyler Perry" in the subtitle.

Then they get over here and meet other Indians, a disproportionately large number of whom really do work in convenience stores. If you look at the numbers, guess who robs and shoplifts from convenience stores? So their friends who have been over here a while are afraid of black people, too, and spread the word.

But as with most things, the next generation is much more normal about race. The Indian family I'm close to has three sons in their twenties, one of whom is super-Indian, one of whom is just a tan white person who refuses to eat meat, and one of whom clearly wishes he were black. None of them are remarkably racist even though they all work at convenience stores.

But nah, dude, I'd put the worst Indian next to an average Russian any day of the week. With Russians the problem might be easier to understand. I'd be confused, too, if I'd never seen anyone darker than snow in my entire life.

I suppose I should expand "Russians" to include "Eastern Europeans in general." I once had a Ukrainian taxi driver tell me, "In Ukraine, we have no Tatars, no Muslims, no blacks! We are more Russian than Russia is!" I don't think I'd know a Tatar if he hit me in the ballbag, Muslims aren't a race, and there's about four black people in all of Russia, but the Ukrainian guy thought it was a big deal.
