I do have to admit that I have 15 discs for the 3 movies of Lord of the Rings.
The theatrical version and the 4 disc extended collectors edition of each. But it didn't cost 350 bucks. 3/2/2012 9:04:36 PM

I don't collect anything that has "collector" in its title. That's a surefire indicator that it's not a collectable item. 3/2/2012 10:56:03 PM

Well, I'm a sucker for advertisement, and I love boxes. Perfect match for me. Good thing I don't have qualms about buying "collectors" items. 3/2/2012 10:59:17 PM

I have 20-some discs of Beach Boys Smile and "Good Vibrations" outtakes.
Not completed alternate versions, just outtakes. A significant number of the discs are just outtakes of "Good Vibrations," meaning hours and hours of material for a song that's a little over three and a half minutes long.
31 discs for eight feature films is nothing. 3/3/2012 12:23:40 AM

Because it's interesting to hear how some of the greatest recordings in the world evolved in the studio, particularly because Brian Wilson didn't write them down, just arranged them in his head, had a friend transcribe them, and then coached the musicians through the subtleties of their parts. 3/3/2012 12:45:49 PM
