I heard someone cover Toad... at an open mic once, and I thought it was pretty cool but never found out anymore about it/him/them? What should I check out?

I have all of their albums up to this point, and I hope that the new stuff is going to be good. "Rings" is one of my favorite songs of all time. "Stories I Tell" is also another favorite. Both are extremely poignant to me.

I Looked out at the beach tonight, saw the beautiful horizon, that mug was majestic....in my head i heard walk on the ocean...

I don't think they are technically touring, but I've seen both Toad and Glen Phillips solo in the past year. He's definitely got a few more shows lined up this year. The last time I saw Toad (August 2011) they were working on new material (played about 3 new songs, all pretty good) so it seems like a new album is on the horizon.

Also, nearly every Sunday Glen is on http://www.stageit.com for a Sofa Sunday. It's a pretty relaxed show, 45 minutes long. It says 30 but he always does a 15 minute encore. His kids, dog, etc. are known to make appearances. It's only $3 and I've seen 4-5 of them now.
