Always considered it Monday and never even thought about it being another day.

Yet a few people at work are adamant that SUNDAY is the start of the week.

This just absolutely blows my mind. I can't even consider another day than Monday.

Sunday is the end of the weekend, and you start your week on Monday.

Then, I looked at some calendars and sure enough, most I looked at have Sunday listed as the first day.

I'm not religious at all, so maybe that has something to do with it???

SQL Server is usually defaulted to Sunday as day 1.

I've always gone by Sunday being the first day of the week.

It's Monday for me, but if I were answering a question, I'd prolly say Sunday based on calendars. Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekEND right?

Interesting. I have always regarded Sunday as the first day of the week.

But Sunday is also the "day of rest" which would be on the 7th day according to the Bible, to answer your religious question. Unless you look at it as the Jewish Sabbath, which is Saturday, and not the Christian day of rest... and in the New Testament, Sunday is the "first day of the week".

Europe starts the week on a Monday.

The international standard for representation of dates and times states that Monday is the first day of the week.

....and on the 7th day, the lord rested.

7th day = sunday, the sabbath day, day of rest and worship. Therefore, monday would be the true beginning of each 7 day weekly cycle.

Monday starts the week as far as me and my own mental accounting go. However, calendars need to have weeks start on Sunday so that the work week is properly centered.

You people quoting religion are stupid, because you are citing the wrong shit.

http://carm.org/religious-movements/seventh-day-adventism/scriptures-dealing-first-day-week

The first day of the week is Sunday.

^How does that contradict anything I have said??

Quote :
"and in the New Testament, Sunday is the "first day of the week"."

^ Did you even click my link?

Theres far more evidence that the bible says Sunday is Day #1, versus your:

Quote :
"But Sunday is also the "day of rest" which would be on the 7th day according to the Bible, to answer your religious question."

^^Did you even read the rest of my paragraph? Where I say that's not really how it should be looked at, and that Sunday is the first day of the week??

^^ How do you know I was calling you out, and not Dyne, which was the original intention.

You also edited that shit to add more clarifications.

"You people" typically means more than one.

Also, I edited it 10 minutes before your post. Nice try.
