Thank God Raleigh is not on that list. The closest city to us is probably Nashville. And WTF including Savannah on that list. Savannah was cool before being a Southern city was cool.

The best cities are cities that most of us haven't even heard of yet.

San Francisco could make the top 10 list for best cities for any damn thing. Don't get me wrong, it's a great city, I'd love to live there but there's too much general weirdness. It's not exactly a place you'd go to stand out.

Between SCAD accepting anyone with dat dolla dolla and the savannah sludge scene explodiing it is definitely a huge hipster mecca

Austin..definitely.

One time I walked into a local pizza shop and asked the hipster at the counter if it was going to rain (albeit it was cloudy and windy and I was just being friendly), but he responded "How would I know, do I look like an astronomer"

all cities on the list will become immediately un-hip for being mentioned by a mainstream pub as a hipster-base... the first rule of hipster is you don't admit to hipster

Hipster media outlets consider Raleigh to be quickly becoming a new hipster mecca for music, but we don't have the already current levels of hipster radiation that other cities do. This is probably a good thing. Hipster hipster hipster.

Couldn't agree more. When I was there last summer, I about lost my life numerous times from almost being run over by some hipster on a fixie.

Also, Nashville is apparently gotten bad lately. Have had a few friends who live there mention it a bunch of times, and a buddy just got back form there and all he could ask is what the deal was with so many guys up there wearing skinny jeans.

I remember reading in the Express earlier this week that DC was low on the list due to the high concentration of business professionals and government workers here.

Since it lumps NYC together I guess Adams Morgan would be our Brooklyn?

Either Adams Morgan or Columbia Heights.

Portland, OR should have won by a landslide.

The fact that it didn't is illustrated by Portland, ME also in the list. Portland, ME became a hipster mecca due to the fact that many geographically confused hipsters east of the mississippi embarking on their pilgrimage were confused and assumed that the allure of Portland was the city in Maine. Ultimately, this became a self-fulfilling prophecy, and Portland, ME became a hipster force en masse unto its own.

DC is on the list (#29), and it even beat Salt Lake City somehow. DC didn't even have a brewery until this last year, WTF?. I'm surprised that Richmond is not on the list, however. The Fan is like hipster haven.
