For me, it was a professor of mine (English 101). Someone had taken a picture of some bathroom poetry (probably in DH Hill) and posted it on TWW. I guess this professor peruses TWW, found it mildly entertaining and decided to share it with the class. He then warned us of the harsh atmosphere and resistance to newcomers this place was. I saw all of the "brentroad.com" painting and chalking on campus back in 2000 and my best friend and her bf were on TWW, but I didn't sign up. It wasn't until two things coincided to get me to sign up and start posting: 1.) My friends with benefits* ditched me for a TWWer. 2.) My roommate showed up in a thread.

I lived with Ashes in one of the tri-towers the summer before freshman year. I started dating/talking to AdamNCSU. When they met each other, they were like, "OMG You're so-and-so from teedub!!!"
