says Groupon.

http://www.groupon.com/pages/earth-day

Quote :
"This year, the Earth is turning the big 4-0-0, and Groupon is committed to helping the planet reach its 401st birthday by offering green deals and supporting environmental campaigns through Groupon Grassroots and CrowdRise, co-founded by Edward Norton."

That's right - Groupon is touting it's latest greenwashing by teaming up with cinema ragamuffin Ed Norton.

I'm not a scientist... I'm really more of a sycophant
and I've repeatedly heard that the Earth is much older than 400 years

so I'm going to repeat that with conviction

that sounds about right. my grandpa is like 80 and the earth is way older than my grandpa, and 400 is way older than 80, so the math checks out.

i'm not sure if i should be offended or not by your characterization of Ed Norton as ragamuffin

Death to Smoochy remains of the one the most underrated movies of all time, and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

i know a dude that seriously believes the earth is 7k years old. I tried to explain to him that if that was the case would wouldnt be able to see stars but it went over his head surprisingly.

I honestly don't know why it didn't do better in theaters. It's hilarious.

the sophisticated ones will argue that seeing the stars has nothing to do with the age of the world and is just due to our misunderstanding of the speed of light and space.

There are hundreds of millions of stars that are within 7000 light years of earth.

Even if the universe was only 2000 years old there would be 80 million stars visible to us.

Negating, of course, the million years or so it takes for fusion to begin and the star to become visible, but we will assume instant creation of the universe.

with god, fusion can start instantly. How do you know how long it takes for fusion to start? How many fusion startups have you actually timed?

How do you know dinosaur bones actually came from dinosaurs and God didn't just make the bones only? How many live dinosaurs have you seen?

I've seen quite a few dinosaurs. Never raised any though, don't like the noise and the shit everywhere.

So, how did they figure out 400? Maybe it is really 402? Cave drawings?
