I bet you'd eat tonkatsu

It's just a breaded deep fried pork cutlet

Now I wouldn't expect people to be very adventerous and want to try cuttlefish (dried squid) but I love it

Greasy, overpriced, overhyped. Just because it's expensive doesn't make it good.

My favorite food by far in Japan was the Japanese take on Curry. Specifically Coco-Ichibanya.

Solid, good food that was filling and fucking delicious.

Plus it combined my love of Japanese-Style Fried Pork Cutlet (TonKatsu) with curry and a cheese similar to queso blanco.

It is the fucking heat.

If I wanted to go a bit more expensive, just straight up Tonkatsu from a place called Katsugen is fucking orgasmic.

A step above that was Ishigaki-gyu sushi. Or Raw beef sushi where the beef is from a place called Ishigaki (near Okinawa).

Ishigaki-gyu is a step above Kobe and is best eaten raw.

Case in Point:

I literally just came when I saw this picture. 4 slices will set you back 30 bucks. Wolfpackgrrr, myself and a friend had a night where we had about 20 slices per person. And it was worth every penny.

Yes, I think you give a shit. I just think with the mental inadequacies that come with being a bartender that you're trying to cover up for them with your "TUFF" comment. Just fess up, you thought Chinese and Japanese cultures were the same. After all, "they all look the same."

Now go make me a Vodka Martini. Shaken, not stirred, bitch.

Yes, because that's what I said. I have had it only once, BECAUSE it is expensive. If I could afford it, I would eat it all the time.

Greasy? Umm yeah, it has a high fat content, if that's what you mean, and that's what makes it taste good, you know that, right? And the fat has a high concentration of monounsaturated fats, which melt at room temperature, so the fat literally melts in your mouth. That's what's amazing about it; I don't give a rat's ass about the price or the hype or the rarity. You obviously don't know me.

Haha, so wagyu is 'greasy', but not the one you posted a pic of. Wagyu is overpriced, but not the one you posted. Right?

Oh, and look at me I am so rich... I spent $150 eating raw beef!

^ Hey Bro, you mad?

Just because you've heard about it on Alton Brown or the food channel doesn't make you some sort of an expert.

The cows that Ishigaki-gyu is made from are generally exported from the island to places like Matsuzaka and Kobe to make the famed Kobe/Wagyu beef.

The only problem being is that those ranchers have gone a bit nuts and over-marbled (IMO) their meat. To me, it tastes like beef-flavored fat.

On the other side Ishigaki-gyu is generally less marbled, but just as tender.

I know it must be your sort of thing to drop the names of expensive things CONSTANTLY and act like you're some sort of subject matter expert. Example: every fucking thread in the garage about a supercar that I will never own. Every post in the lounge about "owning land in the oil country."

Maybe you could make some post about this that no one gives a shit about? Oh wait, nevermind. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

There's some in Hawaii too. Not that I will ever make it to either of those places any time soon One day when I win the lotto I'll open a Coco Ichibanya in Raleigh just so I can eat there whenever I want. My favorite was the summer curry:

Tomatoes, okra, eggplant, chicken. So good.

I also miss cheap donburi places like Sukiya. My favorite donburi was either the kimchi gyudon

or oyakodon

Chicken, egg, caramelized onions with the soy sauce based broth on rice. Nom nom nom.
