lemme guess. You ate this and then got sick and hospitalized then had to go to the equal opportunity office to get the doctors to help you?

All pet food brands have the potential for contamination issues simply because of the scale of manufacturing and where they get their protein sources from. Only way to really hedge your bets is to prepare your pet's food yourself but personally I'm too lazy to do that. And my cats are weird and will only touch kibble. They don't even like tuna

Diamond has had way more recalls than any of the other brands I've considered. They've killed a lot of pets. I thought they'd changed, but I guess not. I'd prefer to feed my cat the safest brand of food possible.

Merrick is part of castor and pollux. After finding out Natural Balance has Diamond produce some of their foods, I'm going with Merrick's before grain. Only problem is Pet supermarket will only give me store credit, so I think I'm going to have to get a bag of EVO to feed since their cat food selection sucks. Or I'll just save the store credit for when I get a dog.

I know the food recall from years ago about killed aea's cat- that being said, I still use the big brand name food for my dog that is what works for his GI tract and is what he likes. I tried royale canin, but that, aside from being 55 bucks for a 25lb back (5x's as much as what I pay now), it upset my dogs stomach and his hair started to fall out.

Royal canin is one of the brands I have never been impressed with. Ingredient list and price didn't seem to match to me.

The merrick seems to be a good buy for the money. I can't cheap out on cat food because it makes the cat have eye infections, and I want to buy food that doesn't contain stuff either of us people are allergic to. Not worth risking getting sick because you forgot to wash your hands after petting the cat.

My kitty eats blue buffalo or whatever it is called. She went from two or three hairballs a month to <1 a month on average. She sheds less, but her breath smells like ass. A dental would help, but she gets a quarter of a tiny can of their canned food, various flavors, each night and it makes the whole first floor smell.

Is Natural Balance the one that makes Prairie?

I have been looking to switch my dogs to a better food and that one seemed to have really good reviews.

I was originally thinking Blue Buffalo but I read that there's been a lot of diarrhea problems from that.

I had my dog on Before Grain Salmon (shiny black bag, blue text) for a few years. It's a high quality food, but she ended up developing an allergy to Salmon so I changed her to Taste of the Wild Lamb...I'll have to check my bag when I get home.

how likely is it that my pet(s) will die if they eat this?

sounds like a good out for me to not have dogs anymore and not take any real blame if i can blame the dog food.

I'm just glad it doesn't apply to the Meow Mix I am eating for lunch.

I feed my dog Taste of the Wild. My bag was an "X" away from being contaminated. Guess I'll go with another brand next time.
