Great game but I can't imagine playing it on the arcade back in the day. It's essentially just a guessing game with visual cues. I would have burned through $5 in quarters just trying to figure out the first level.

^^It's essentially an interactive cartoon. You have to push the right button at the exact right time to survive. That means either playing the game a shit load or having lightning reflexes to push the appropriate button when it flashes.

This is what happens.

Die to eels twice, can't do shit. It decides to teleport me through the next 3 doors anyway. The floor crumbles. I keep pressing right and he jumps through the right door. The next thing is random. Sometimes it is a random room where he decides to just die. Usually there is a princess saying save me. So I press forward and get sucked through the door. Enter a room with a diamond in front. I press right to not get sucked into the abyss. Then I get into a new room. Sometimes i just die in some stupid way. The most common thing is there is a cauldron and it spills and i have to press forward to avoid being acidified. Then he decides to fucking drink some toxic shit and die.

I enjoyed Space Ace too.


To get past the bridge you do have to do more than just swing the sword. You push the spacebar (to swing the sword) right when the tentacles move near you, then about halfway through his swing keep pushing up (don't hold it down, just push up repeatedly). When he climbs through the hole, keep pushing right (also don't hold it down).

I remember how to get out of most of these rooms, my timing is just fubared.
