never said it was edgy radio. i'm not a fan of the whole "edgy radio" stuff anymore. it's all been done and shows like O&A are somewhat annoying. I just like these guys because it's basically the same kinds of random conversations I would have with my friends sitting around a few drinks. and it's usually pretty funny

They gave me the "free trial" with my new car and then spammed me nonstop by postal mail after trial ran out. I would never pay for that service. It still had commercials breaking in all the time -- advertising other XM stations! If I wanted to be listening to those other stations, I would be. I prefer my own curated music library played via Bluetooth off my phone.

what channels were you listening to? The talk, news, sports channels all have traditional ad breaks especially if they're syndicated. A lot of the SXM only talk channels still have ad breaks but not nearly as bad as terrestrial radio.

The music channels have DJ breaks that may advertise another channel or a special event, but that's about it.

Yes, exactly. I was listening to music channels and they would break in to spam their new (at that time) Beatles station. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic, but if I'm going to pay for the service, I don't want ad breaks. So I don't pay. Also seemed to repeat songs even more frequently than terrestrial radio, which I didn't think would be possible.

I've never used it tho - I imagine it might plug other channels, but maybe not as aggressively

in my van which had it pre-installed, on the first 12 presets I can rewind 1 hour (I didn't realize that until like a month ago, which upset me) so that's cool :333

ummm I guess for me personally, I prob wouldn't have it if it hadn't been pre-installed

But don't you have to pay for ongoing access? I mean, my car still technically has it as the hardware was standard (part of their business model), but I don't pay to continue access to the service.
