Time to defend the trophy.

There should be plenty of salsa dancing happening.

He might come in third on the list of "New York QBs people pay the most attention to," but 2 rings says it all.

So what if he was a Tarheel? I hated him then but I can love him now.

And I can't wait to see what JPP, the "Unmitigated Freak," is going to show us this year.

He got a ring! A drug suspension, too!

Hopefully we'll see plenty more of this:

And maybe even this:

Introducing:

And of course...

Schedule
1 Cowboys (Wednesday)
2 Buccs
3 @Panthers (Thursday)
4 @Eagles
5 Browns
6 @49ers
7 Redskins
8 @Cowboys
9 Steelers
10 @Bengals
11 Bye
12 Packers
13 @Redskins (Monday)
14 Saints
15 @Falcons
16 @Ravens
17 Eagles

7 of the 10 non-divisional games are against teams who made the playoffs last year. This is going to be a very tough season, especially with the entire division making major improvements.

^Not too concerned, he'll still be available for at least half of the pre-season games and shouldn't miss any season time.

Quote :
"Kuhn, a native of Germany, isn't an American citizen. As a result, he needs a work visa, which takes anywhere between a couple weeks and six months to receive. And he's still waiting for it.

"This just takes a little bit with bureaucracy," the 26-year-old rookie defensive tackle said yesterday.
"It just takes a second. But it's nothing crazy. It should come in any day, but until then we have to wait because I can't work."

Kuhn said the Giants were aware of the situation when they drafted him in the seventh round out of North Carolina State and he applied for a work visa that will be valid for five years, though he could get one that lasts ten years. He isn't allowed to participate in any on-field activity as an employee, but can and has taken part in the classroom portion of OTAs.

"It's so strange. It never happens, but it is what is," Kuhn said. "I can get it any day now.""

The horse-collar tackle that saved a touchdown followed by the no-call pass interference on Cruz in the endzone in the second quarter really messed this thing up. Of course there were plenty of other chances (Cruz dropped way too many easy catches that could have been big gains) but it was the difference of playing from 7 back instead of 3.

I'm not really worried, I figured we'd split with the Cowboys this season, and I think it is pretty clear that this defense will be spectacular once it is at 100% health.

I'm more worried about the running game (and Cruz forgetting how to catch) than I am about the defense. The wins came last year in spite of lackluster running, wonder how likely that is to happen again...

The short yardage run attempts were pretty pitiful. Is that because of no Jacobs or a shitty o-line?

Maybe they should get Brown in there for those situations. He's the biggest back they have (not including FB of course).

Justin Tuck looks like Shredder from TMNT with that ugly facemask.

And Eli didn't do shit for my fantasy points.

That's all I have on the Giants.

Jacobs is washed up it's not because of him. The Giants were ranked 27th in the league last year in power success rate so this isn't a new issue for them.

Week 2 vs Buccaneers...10 days of rest should hopefully be enough to fix the problems. At least it better be, because the Panthers are 4 days later.

There is no significant break anywhere in this schedule. Just look at the opponent QBs alone:

Romo (twice)
RG3 (twice)
Vick (twice)
Newton
Roethlisberger
Dalton
Rogers
Flacco
Breese
Freeman
Ryan
Weeden (the only one that doesn't worry me)

Andre Brown with his first NFL touchdown. Fuck the Giants but I am super happy for him. He also showed some incredible restraint on the previous play by not going in for the TD but sliding so more clock could be burned. Super classy day for Brown.

And how's that, exactly? I'm not cheering on a divisional opponent. It isn't my fault the Panthers didn't exist for the first 10 years of my life. I was raised a Giants fan and when the Panthers showed up I made them my #2.

Plus I got to cheer on Andre Brown, which would be the opposite of cheering on UNC (especially since Nicks wasn't in the game today).

Oh, and I cheer this team on for every game every year, again the opposite of UNC fans who only care when they're cheating winning.

As long as we win the turnover battle I'm feeling pretty good against Philly. We can't have the same kind of start we did against TB.

This division looks much more winnable than it did before the season started.

very crappy disappointing loss. i'm having flashbacks to last year with the inability to run the ball and the defensive secondary being just awful. gonna be a long season once again; hopefully some of these younger guys can start stepping up.

Where was clutch Eli Manning in last night's 4th quarter? The game was practically handed to NY on a plate.

The run game is working better so far this year and we haven't seen a fully healthy secondary.

^^Eli only made one bad play and that was the interception. We had that last drive in the bank until the stupid offensive pass interference. I have no idea what Bennett was thinking.

I also have no idea why there was even a pass play called in the first place when we were already in field goal range...should have run it once more, spiked it, kicked it, game over.

I don't blame Eli for this game.

What a way to finish. I love seeing the other team's hearts break like that after pulling ahead so late.

Schedule
1 Cowboys (Wednesday) L
2 Buccs W
3 @Panthers (Thursday) W
4 @Eagles L
5 Browns W
6 @49ers W
7 Redskins W

8 @Cowboys
9 Steelers
10 @Bengals
11 Bye
12 Packers
13 @Redskins (Monday)
14 Saints
15 @Falcons
16 @Ravens
17 Eagles

Every remaining game is either a divisional opponent or a playoff team from last year. Most of them don't look as good as they did last year (except for the Falcons who are way better) but this is still a very very rough schedule. I still believe this is at least a 10-win team which should be enough to win the division.

Quote :
"The Giants clinch a playoff spot this week if they win and the Cowboys, Redskins, Vikings and Bears all lose. This is because, even though a Week 17 loss by the Giants would cost them the tiebreaker against the Cowboys-Redskins winner for the division title, they'd win tiebreakers over any combination of the Seahawks, Vikings and Bears in the wild-card race. "

This season has been a huge disappointment. Four losses by 7 points or less. One loss by 2 points, one loss by 1 point, both to divisional rivals.

2 more field goal kicks this season could have meant sitting at 10-4 right now with the division already locked up.

Next year's opponents:

Home
Redskins
Eagles
Cowboys
Packers
Vikings
Raiders
Seahawks
Broncos

Away
Redskins
Eagles
Cowboys
Panthers
Bears
Lions
Chiefs
San Diego

There's at least another 9 win season, but I hope by then they'll still remember it takes more than that.

Also playing Panthers on the road 2 years in a row.

This year Giants played the Packers because they both finished first last year (it was set a while ago that the #1 North would play AT #1 South). Next season All North teams play all South teams, home and aways are opposite of what they were 3 years ago when they were last matched up.

Same thing with the Panthers but reverse. This season was all East vs all South and next season is #2 East AT #2 South.
