I want my team to be able to paste into a filtered, protected workbook. The issue is that since it's protected, they're unable to access the Go To Special menu. As such, when pasting, the data gets applied to consecutive rows, including 'hidden' cells. I don't want to distribute the password to unprotect and apply visible cells only. That would make the data team less than pleased

Any thoughts?

Yes, you need to be using Access (or some other forms over data platform)
If you don't trust your team to use the workbook as intended, Excel isn't the right tool.

You can do what you're wanting using VBA, setting fields to read only. You don't need to protect the workbook to do that. It just means they will have to always "allow macros".
