I live in Morrisville. I like it. Traffic can suck depending on where you are and where you need to go, but once you know the patterns, there is always a work around.

Already made an offer. Close to airport so there may be noises annoying sometimes but it's OK. Shorter distance to working place but far from shopping centers and NCSU.

I lived in Morrisville for a while. I really enjoyed it. Far enough away from the city life and close enough to the city to party (Raleigh or Durham).

I lived (skwinkle still lives there) off Church St. near the McCrimmon/Chapel Hill Rd. intersection. It's a town home in a neighborhood called Hamlet in the Park.

^I have a friend who owns a townhouse back in there

I used to live in Carrington Park Apartments, back when they were first built. I liked Morrisville, my work commute was like 5 minutes and it was easy to get to everything.

How much are your houses?
The house I narrowed down is in district of McCrimmon at the Park. My offer is 30 thousand lower than the seller wants. They want 300,000, but I think 270,000 is reasonable. My friend just bought a house in spring and it's 268,000.

Well, we live in a town home which is 1144 sq ft., 2BR, 2.5 bath. It's probably smaller than the house you're looking at. I think it's valued around 150k.

[Edited on June 14, 2012 at 12:13 PM. Reason : we're just renting, also]

wake county has all of it's real estate sales/property/tax info online, http://services.wakegov.com/realestate/

use it to look at comparables in your sub-division, this can help make decisions on your offer

I think that's a reasonable offer. Most of the houses around there are valued between 150 and 300 it looks like.

I'm also buying a house in July, but in Raleigh near downtown . I work in Morrisville but living out there, or Cary, just isn't for me.

Yeah.

If I was married and raising a family I could see the appeal of Cary/Morrisville. But I won't be there for years...

Sorry about the house pricing! Hope you can find another.

Cool, maybe before you make another pass at it do some research on comps, pricing, how long they are taking to sell, etc.

If your price is really fair you might be able to get them closer to where you want to be by using some data.

I can't imagine paying that much for a house and having to deal with airport noise and taking 40 just to get home every day.

But I'm not you, so whatevs.

275K, bro. I'm offering 275k. You still think it's too much?
And I'm not going school anymore. It's close to RTP companies. About 15min on the way to work.
