Set to be released summer of 2013... The XII is in parentheses because supposedly there will not be a number associated with this film, similar to the next generation movies. (and the numbering scheme is all messed up anyway with the partial re-boot with the last film.)

I haven't read much about potential plots, but there is the persisting rumor that Khan will make an appearance... of course it will have to be a much different khan than the one in the movie... since the events of "TOS" never happened, he will not have a vendetta against Kirk.

Exactly. If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it. Rumor is he may be playing Kahn in the next movie, but that's just a rumor. Everyone is very tight lipped about the plot and villian.

Damon Lindelof is part of the writing team now (Lost and Prometheus). It's now the full team that brought you Cowboys and Aliens, and the guy who writes more questions into his work than he has any interest in addressing.

I'm hoping JJ Abrams keeps them in check.

I lost all interest after reading that. Prometheus had such potential, it should have written itself yet they managed to screw it up. It still may be good but I'll wait to see the reviews first.

Just the opposite, I'd go for imax 3D, the only thing that save Prometheus for me was that I saw it in imax 3D. I fully expect the effects in ST to be top shelf.
