I feel you on this one. I used to have issues with my in-laws when we first got married. My wife's stepfather came over one day and got in my face and ran his mouth while in my house. I threw him out and damn sure thought we were going to get in a fight right there. Thank God it didn't escalate to that.

The real solution for me was to just move away. My wife had always been under her mom, even when she went to school she just commuted to save money. They bought a house around the corner when we bought ours. Now we are 2 hours away from them and in an area they never want to live (too many people and too much traffic). They hated me for that at first (stealing her grandchildren away) but they are finally over it and don't act like fools anymore. Not around them enough to have to worry about it and they know we can just choose to not make it back and visit if they do. Problem solved.
