All the gaming sites are blocked at work so I have to use a tech blog article. Probably less informative but better writing

http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/7/2/3131535/total-war-rome-2-announcement

http://youtu.be/oKglskMfyWA

Quote :
"The close-ups show the faces of soldiers as they call out to each other – panicked expressions, faces contorting, the dread and hardships of ancient war evident in their eyes. Every soldier is an individual, every soldier experiences pain, fear, exhaustion. It's not easy being in the Roman legions. Zoomed out, it is hard to comprehend how the thousands upon thousands of moving specks against the landscape could possibly be the same soldiers whose faces were shown earlier. The camera swoops over a Roman city, up hills, into a bay; naval fleets meet land and thousands more specks swarm the city."

i hope it's not really buggy on the battle maps. I remember some cities you could bug things out and own face.

In the first RTW if you had a wooden fence with a single hole in it, you could win any siege defense no matter how many were attacking by making a U with pikemen. They didn't even have to be good pikemen, although that made it go faster.

The enemy wouldn't even bother multiple points of entry, once there was a single hole they drop all siege equipment and swarm.

RTW Guals

2-3 dog units at their center which holds long enough to sweep one side with all Calvary. Entire army routes like a zipper.

Seleucid Empire free DLC coming in October, and a Nomadic Tribes Culture Pack paid DLC featuring the Roxolani, the Massagetae and the Royal Scythians.

You can bet the Scythians will have some Amazon Warriors.

Looks good but all the early reviews say it sucks, they tried too hard; and to just stick with 1.

I think it's pretty awesome besides some issues. If you're comparing it to unmodded versions of the other games I don't think this release is worse than most. It's far more flawed than Shogun 2 was at release, but Shogun 2 was an anomoly in Total War games as far as being polished and bug free.

I'm loving it. Rome 1 was really the only Total War game I could get into, so this is a huge difference for me.

Stand-alone expansion Attila is out, it's incredible. Most fans (even the ones who hated Rome 2) seem to agree it's one of the best TW games yet.

Got Attila.

It's a whole lot harder than Rome 2.
