I'd like to get into pickling, since I have extra veggies this year. Anyone have any experience with the hot water bath process? Any tips you'd pass along? Recipes to try?

I have cucumbers, but I saw a zucchini dill pickle recipe I'd like to try, since I have an abundance of them:

as long as you hear the pop and/or the dimple on the lid is sucked down you're good to go

put jalapenos in it for a little kick

i made some last year that were freaking awesome...they were "sweet dills" with some red pepper thrown in...not super sweet (because i don't like those), but just enough to accent the pepper

i'll post the recipe when i get home
