tww is a popularity contest. It doesn't matter how stupid a thread is, if the person is "liked" on tww, it'll get rave reviews. Check out any started thread by settledown, punchmonk, qntmfred or any user with tits.

If you're "hated" on tww, you'll get minimal quality responses, if responses at all, and if there are a lot of responses, then it's to tell that user how horrible he is. See bubblebobble, merbig, krallum

But I will grant you people are less willing to hate on the second group compared to the first, but it's not a popularity contest. They just have more leeway when they post a crappy thread because of the quality shit they usually bring to the table (via threads and posts). The second group doesn't get that leeway because of their history of not bringing that level of quality.
