My townhouse shares a very small covered porch with the unit next door, and there are separate back decks with a hedge between (thank goodness). The front deck is really quite small, just enough room to bring up an armload of groceries. Despite there being a private back deck, my neighbor has taken up residence on the front porch in a folding chair. His fucking knees hit the divider between our respective sides, but he's always. fucking. there. facing my front door and talking to me every time I check the mailbox or go or come from my car/yard etc. He's nice enough and I try to be civil and everything, but damn, he is like one more obstacle to avoid when I'm in a hurry and trying to get somewhere or just trying to enjoy a moment alone in my tiny yard.


Another guy moved in right behind me and was sawing shit outside ridiculously late AND early, after I noticed him staring at me in my house through my deck door when I had it open on the first day he was here. I decided not to call the police after he didn't get the hint of disco deck lights at 1 am thursday night , but I regretted it when he started up again at 7 am on Saturday after finally finishing at 2 am friday night (i was still up, kinda). I guess he felt as bad as I did, but damn, fucking hate him now and scowl every time I hear him make a sound or see him in the yard.

At least the 2-4 am weeknight hot tub parties have stopped. Some young loser who was living with his parents and not going to school or working much had drunk people screaming out there a lot last summer. I guess dad finally put an end to it, but too late, as there's a girl with a baby hanging around all the time. The hot tub is empty and the cover is always in a state of disarray.

yeah, yeah, tww is not a blog. so don't read it tell me about your annoying neighbors.

I don't see why people are nice to those who disrespect the piss out of them. If they're friendly you should feel comfortable walking over there and asking them to keep the noise down a little. No reasonable person is going to give you grief for asking nicely. They probably don't realize how much noise is making it's way into your home.

If they're not your friends or you don't think they'll be friendly about it just call the police and let them handle it for you. Tell them to relay to the officer that you want no contact (as in, don't come to my door and ask me where the party is). Act like nothing happened the next time you see your neighbors. Rinse, repeat, until they get the message.

I live in a "transition" neighborhood. I'm actually cool with everyone...but they can get fucking loud sometimes. I'm not talking, "blaring your music loud"...I'm talking, "yelling at someone three houses down" loud. It can be pretty annoying at night.
