We have this beautiful Matador Red model here, however, if you take it in the brown I'll give you $500...[Edited on July 11, 2012 at 7:56 PM. Reason : .]

I believe this is what they call an Oxymoron.I've been negotiating with 3 Honda Dealers on a new car this past week.I can say Leith Honda is the worst. Then Autopark Honda in Cary. All of them just want to screw you over.

From personal experience, Hendrick Kia will give you damn good money on your trade but then be miserly on the sale price. Not optimal but it worked for my purposes. They're going to get theirs somehow, basically. It's on you to either minimize the screwing, or at least adapt it to your desired purpose.

I've been dealing with 4 Hyundai dealerships. One is extremely pushy...but they will take care of all maintenance including oil etc changes for 2 years.Another claims to take the powertrain warranty from 10 years to lifetime. Another one says we don't do that, we just have lower prices! Another one drove by my house with the car I wanted calling me on the phone. I politely told them to get screwed.

Don't be afraid to branch out beyond the Raleigh area. When I bought my truck in 2009, I tried all the local triangle area dealerships, requesting the exact same truck configuration order (not an on-lot vehicle) and I had a target priced based on research. After hours dealing with them, none of them could get to my target, telling me they'd be "losing money" and "that's an impossible price." Then I made one phone call to Crown Ford in Fayetteville, told the guy exactly what I wanted and what the other dealerships said. He said, "They're just not willing to budge on their take, give me a couple hours and I'll email you a quote." Sure enough he did, right at my target, I signed off on the quote, gave him a deposit and the truck was ordered. I never met him until the day I showed up to pick up the truck. Just do plenty of research, know exactly what you are willing to pay for specific configurations, and don't budge. It's more work, but it saved me about $4500.

Hendrick GMC and Crossroads Nissan both did me right.

I had a terrible experience with Johnson Lexus. I had an amazing experience with Flow Lexus in G'boro.

^Be wary of their service department. I had a professional mechanic buddy a few years ago that had to quit there due to the unethical actions and "unwritten" policies that were in place. Charging people for work that was never done, making up necessary repairs or maintenance and not doing the work, padding maintenance lists, etc.Perhaps things have changed over the past 4-5 years, but based on my friend's report, it was BAD.

never used their service dept., but that's good to know.
