Damn, when/where was Carvel I don't remember that?

Oh and remember when Pearl was a plane Jane, now they got whole ecosystems and flat screens in the dining room, I'm glad the microphone hasn't changed though.

There's two guys that have been at that post office forever, one is tall and named Romeo and the short guy with the high-pitched voice that kind of looks like Herb Sendek, his name is escaping me at the moment

Rock-Ola was good in its prime. I remember going there with my parents as a high school senior, spring 1998, after being on campus all day for scholarship interviews, and watching NC State beat UNC (who were in the top 10 at the time). 86-74 with stellar play from C. C. Harrison.

Also many times going to Blockbuster to rent DVDs.

I went to Rockola for the first time in probably 1989. My dad loved the onion rings.

I remember sitting in a booth there and watching Micheal Jackson's "Leave Me Alone" video.

It's also where I saw Tom Suiter a few years later. I was in awe at the time, but looking back, it's pretty dumb that I somehow was surprised to find him eating at a place next door to his office.

hahaha, both are definitely still there. can't remember that other guy's name either but he is always way too happy about being at the post office.

Cloos' Coney Island.
Good burgers. Not a fan of the dogs with the skin, but other people seem to like them.

As the TWW resident Rockola waitress, I definitely have to say Rockola is my best memory of Avent Ferry! I was thinking of it this morning on my run even, I passed a girl who looked like she was walking to work at Chipotle, and it reminded me of all the times I would walk to work at Rockola.

Onion rings, yes!

Buffalo sauce, oh yeah! Chicken wings rolled in buffalo, then refried, then rolled again... mmmmmmm

oh how I miss working Tom's table. Every night he'd come in a get the same thing, the "Suitor" burger, atleast that's what I called it. He was a vegetarian, so we'd nix the patty and replace it with mushrooms and veggies. Best tipper ever and hardly no work. Some nights he'd leave $30-45 bucks for a tip. that's good money for The Rock.

I remember going to Rockola with a couple of friends, and the waitress was having a shit day. Like, other customers were treating her like ass, the boss was being a dick, etc. She was on the verge of tears. Awkward.

So I tipped her 50 bucks, and left a note that said "things always get better."

One time this one waitress was stiffed so I hid a fiver under a glass to make it look like the table was just cheap... She was a good waitress, no reason for them not to tip her

after awhile the people who came to rockola were crap. Most of the best tables were at lunch time during the week, the evening and weekend crowd, slowly stopped coming in. The food never changed.

Used to spend a lot of time in that place. Smoke was so thick it seemed like you couldn't see the back wall.

One time I watched a tractor trailer jackknife on avent ferry during a snow storm from inside Rockola. I was contemplating going home early because of the snow then saw that and decided, yep it was time to just leave the car and walk home no one was going to come in now anyways

Champions was where I went for my first TWW meetup.

There was a cool "indie" video store in mission valley a while ago that we went to all the time instead of blockbuster. They always had a rack of employee suggestions that were usually pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure the Varsity didn't card a single person during the summer of 1996. I used to get drunk up their underage and help the waitresses with their summer school math homework.

That was a North American Video, wasn't it? Up in the top row somewhere between Cloos' and Ruckus?

I remember MinkaGrl01 working there ... I also remember go there with her back when i was new on Tdub!

I think the burger i always got was the "sloppy jose" burger... then they changed the menu and it was gone
